Mezastar Buddy

Privacy Policy

Effective date: 18 September 2026

Mezastar Buddy (“the app”) is a fan-made companion app. This policy explains what information the app does and does not handle. In plain terms: the app has no account and keeps the data you create on your device. It shows ads, provided by Google, to support development — see Advertising below.

Who we are

Mezastar Buddy is developed by Billy. For any questions about this policy, contact sirlockhome.dev@gmail.com.

Information we collect

We, the developer, do not collect, store, or transmit your personal information. The app has no user accounts and no sign-in. (Ads shown in the app are provided by Google, which collects certain device information to serve them — see Advertising below.)

All the data you create in the app, including your tag collection, your saved trainer IDs, and your settings, is stored only on your own device. We have no server, and that data is never sent to us or to anyone else. Uninstalling the app, or using “Reset collection” in Settings, removes it.

Device permissions

The app asks for the following permissions, used only for the features described:

  • Location: used only to show your position on the Locations map and to help you find nearby spots. Your location is used on the device to display the map and is not stored by us or sent to us.
  • Camera: used only to scan QR codes and to pick an image for scanning. Images are processed on the device.
  • Microphone: used only by the Identify feature to recognize a cry. The audio is processed on the device in real time. It is not recorded, stored, or transmitted.

You can grant or revoke these permissions at any time in your device settings.

Third-party services

Some features connect to third-party services as part of normal internet use. When they do, those services may receive your device’s IP address and the request itself:

  • OpenStreetMap: the Locations map loads map tiles from OpenStreetMap. When you view the map, tile requests, including the map area you are viewing and your IP address, are sent to OpenStreetMap.
  • Google Maps: if you open directions to a venue, the app opens Google Maps in your browser with that venue’s coordinates.
  • Google Forms: if you choose to send feedback, the app opens a Google Form in your browser. Anything you type into that form is submitted to Google Forms.
  • Google AdMob: the app displays banner ads served by Google. See Advertising below.

Apart from the ads described below, the app does not use analytics services.

Advertising

The app shows ads to help support its development. Ads are served by Google AdMob (Google LLC). Because the app is suitable for a family audience that includes children, every ad request is tagged for child-directed treatment: Google serves non-personalized ads only, limited to general-audience (G-rated) content, and does not use your device’s advertising identifier to build a profile or personalize ads for this app.

To deliver and measure these non-personalized ads, Google may still process limited technical information such as your IP address and general (coarse) location. This is used only to serve, cap, and measure ads. We, the developer, do not receive or store it. You can reset or limit ad personalization at any time in your device settings (on Android: Settings → Google → Ads).

Ads appear only on the app’s browsing screens. They are never shown while you are holding up a QR code to the arcade machine, or while the Identify feature is listening for a cry.

For more about how Google uses information from ads, see Google’s Privacy & Terms and AdMob’s data-use information.

Children’s privacy

The app is suitable for a family audience, including children, and participates in Google Play’s Families programme. The developer does not collect, store, or transmit personal information from anyone, including children; all data you create stays on your device as described above. Ads are limited to non-personalized, general-audience content and are not targeted based on a child’s activity or identity (see Advertising). Ads are served by Google and are subject to Google’s advertising and Families policies.

Data retention and deletion

Because your data lives only on your device, you control it entirely. Uninstall the app or use “Reset collection” in Settings to delete it. We hold no copy.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will update this page and the effective date above.
